Here's a bit about me.Born and raised in Muskegon, MI, I have always been surrounded by family, friends, and design influence. Then, during my junior year of high school I discovered my love for Interior Design.
Since then, I have never looked back. I immediately started looking into design schools. I immersed myself into numerous design outlets. I tried to better myself in any way I could think before I entered college. And, a year later my acceptance letter from Kendall College of Art and Design came. My time at KCAD was a mixture of great, sad, exhausted, and life-changing memories. But, the parts that have changed me the most would be my travels abroad. I have had two opportunities to go abroad during my time at KCAD. First, I traveled across Greece, Italy, England, Ireland, and Scotland for 6 weeks with two of my closest classmates and friends. Second, I was awarded the Grand Rapids Sister Cities' Scholarship for a 4 week independent intensive language and culture study in Perugia, Italy. Both have taught me that there are opportunities and experiences far beyond what we can even imagine. The world is blooming full of knowledge and wisdom that I consider myself blessed to have just scratched the surface of. And, I will continue to further this experience for all of my life. So, this is what I hope to bring to design. A constant desire to learn and educate about design, history, and cultures of the world. |
As we work along our various ways, there takes shape within us, in some sort, an ideal - something we are to become - some work to be done. This, I think is denied to very few, and we begin really to live only when the thrill of this ideality moves us in what we will to accomplish.
