Finish2Fashion - Professional IIDA Competition
Finish2Fashion is a professional competition held by IIDA, International Interior Design Association, where participants are challenged with the task of designing a runway creation completely out of Interior Design materials. The theme for this year's competition was Hollywood.
Myself, along with four other team members, were awarded the Best Craftsmanship and Best of Show awards. We were also one of only two student teams participating.

Process.
Our team knew when we started that our creation had to be something either iconic or wildly different to fulfill the Hollywood theme. We especially did not want to go the traditional Hollywood Glam route. So after pondering back and forth between Mary Poppins and Tim Burton / Helena Bonham Carter, we decided to go a bit eccentric and out of the box with Tim Burton / Helena Bonham Carter. We chose music from the Nightmare Before Christmas for our model to walk down the stage to. We finished our creation within a week and a half. And, we challenged our traditional Interior Design roles in a fashion competition.
Final.
Using two types of carpet backing, vinyl tile, laminate paper, scrap metal from hotel key card boxes, and twine, we were able to create this runway outfit that was inspired by Tim Burton's movies and Helena Bonham Carter's on screen and off screen appearances. Best part was, we did the entire outfit without sewing.
